1969: First breath                                                           
1975: “I want to become an actress!”, after having acted, years later the realization: “I want to become a director!” 
Studies of directing: 1989-94 at Max Reinhardt-Seminar / Vienna
1992 + 1993: First theater staging in Salzburg/Austria at the „Fest von Hellbrunn“ with Garcia Lorca´s „In seinem Garten liebt Don Perlimplin Belisa“ 1993: First short film „Woyzzzzeck!“
 
Parallel Catharina studied acting with Lola Braxton (Stanislavsjij), Actors Studio Vienna (Method Acting), Walter Davy (classical scene work), M.K.Lewis (Camera Technique for actors) and she worked based on the methods of Eric Morris. Staatliches Schauspiel-Diplom 1996.
Academic studies (Mag.phil.) at the University of Vienna: Theater science, Public affairs, psychology) Several teaching positions for young or older aspiring actors and young directors (u.a. Filmschule Wien, Fachhochschule Hagenberg)
 
Work at the theater with George Tabori, Heiner Müller, Oleg Tabakovsky and several others
1995 – 97 Work as first AD, stage manageretc. for movies, commercials and television.
1996 Directorfor commedy shows „Die kranken Schwestern“ ORF television
1997 Multimedia project „Mystic church“ in Prague in cooperation with Soundelux (Los Angeles and Orlando)
1999 Theater in der Drachengasse „Heute Abend Lola Blau“ from Georg Kreissler
2000 Rabenhof / Vienna „Heute Abend Lola Blau“ from Georg Kreissler.

Since 1997 Catharina Roland works as a voice talentfor television, radio, readings etc.
Since 1998 Catharina Roland directs commercials for television and cinema
