Jan Wentz
Before Jan became one of the most respected and awarded German commercial directors he studied film and television production at the University of Akron (US) and the academy of the media Arts in Cologne, Germany. Since directing his first commercial in 1997 he has built an international career as an exceptional, visual storyteller for brands such as Mercedes, Citroen, Gucci, Volkswagen, Hornbach, Audi, Smart, Telekom and SEAT to name a few.
In 2007 he created the most awarded German commercial when he took the Grand Prix at the European ADC for his Hornbach daredevil jump of faux stunt legend "Ron Hammer". There followed a string of further successes such as his character-driven and dark Seat spot "The Myth" as well as Smart´s funny "Parking Meter" ad featuring Robbie Williams. Over the years Jan has directed a unique range of talents such as James Franco, Leonardo DiCaprio and Nina Hagen.
In 2004 he wrote and directed the short film "The Porter" starring Max Beesley and Roxy Music icon Bryan Ferry. Jan lives in Hamburg with his wife and two children.
